NISHI Junzo, Philosopher of Modern Japan What NISHI Junzo remained for us

NISHI Junzo, Philosopher of Modern Japan
What NISHI Junzo remained for us

TANAKA Akio

Yi-jing is one of the five great classics in China. I was taught it at the University from philosopher NISHI Junzo. From the spring to the autumn of a certain year of ancient Chinese thought history  , he lectured us the Yi-jing, that is usually estimated as the Chinese fortune-telling. But the book has deep and wide theoretical and philosophic fields than our modern thinking.
NISHI also taught us at the lecture the method of future-telling using the divining sticks. The lecture was at the morning, so the hearer were almost a few and sometimes when entering the class the student was only one by me. Such a time he calmly said to me from the lecture desk, ” Today’s lecture is to cancel, isn’t it?” Soon after one student entered in the class and successively several came in the class and NISHI began the lecture as the usual calm style.
He taught us the numerous fantastic philosophical themes through his tranquil and pleasant speech. Yi-jing ‘s vast world consists with circle form alike spring again after severe cold winter.
The Yi-jing‘ s world is exactly infinite, and this infinity can be clearly grasped and understood for its circularity. For my understanding the characters in language, this recognition of circularity is very important and probably become the foundation of the structure of language over the characters or words’ structural intuition.
NISHI also taught us Laozi, Sunzi and Zhuangzi at the other year’s lectures. His speech was also descent and accurate. If the lecture be on print, his speech became one fin book as it was. His profound sayings remained till now as his class’ atmosphere.
One day before he ended his lecture he described one strait tree on the blackboard. The tree stood in the black sky of the board. The branches were spread  freely to the sky. He lengthen one thin branch to the sky by his white chalk minutely and said to us, “This is the ‘miao 妙‘ of Laozi.” He put his chalk on the desk and his lecture was over.

Symbolism of Japan, Haiku

Symbolism of Japan, Haiku
4 July 2012

TANAKA Akio

Haiku is the traditional Japanese literature since the Meiji Period some 140 years ago, the ancestor of which was called Haikai that was began in the Muromachi Period some 500 years ago.I have made Haiku since age 20s. My Haiku’s teacher is SAEKI Shoichi, one of the modern Haiku writers in Japan. SAEKI’s teacher is probably ISHIDA Hakyo, famous Haiku writer in the Showa Period. Thus the tradition of the literature has been inherited to me.
One of my youth age’s Haiku, at Tokyo, February 1970, is the following.

TANAKA Akio

At the lawn terrace before library
where spring warm sunlight embraces the students
One is speaking with a friend
Another is reading a book sitting on the lawn with bare feet throwing
I see them as a foreigner who first meets the scene in a bracing air
I have been admitted  here far from the other
I talk with a young teacher who arranges the minute after-admitted paperwork
He speaks to me calmly but eagerly
These are done, these two are now consulting the teachers for transferring
Now you are all assured
Thanks sincerely for your advice, if be not, now I may be not here
in the warm sunlit fresh green place
I love the place
I will read books from now on seeking my aim
succeeding through my lifetime
Library and its open shelves will become the realm of my youth
Repeatedly thanks to Y. and thanks to the library in advance
at the lawn terrace with hope hereafter

At the campus of university
Abstract from The letter to O. again

TANAKA Akio

In your letter, you wrote that you would read the books comfortably not selling the old books of your work. I have also felt the same feeling so I bought  Development of the modern poems written by ANDO Tsuguo who was the fine teacher of literature at the university and I once went to his home thinking to hear his intimate voice on poem and literature. He was one of the most typical poet and critic in the present age of Japan.

And now I would want to read KIYOOKA Takayuki's collected poems, that was ever read in my youth.

In autumn 1970 I was the senior of university, when the next spring I would graduate, I met with the thick French binding KIYOOKA's collected poems  at the well drop-in bookshop of Hachioji, Tokyo. At that time I could not yet find my whole life object of learning.

In his book, I read a long poem titled "at the campus of university" in which he wrote that he meets with the whole life object of learning as he meets with his beloved person in his life.

The next spring 1971 I graduated the university, when I could not find any object at the campus while I ruminated KIYOOKA's stanza.

What I really met with my whole life object was already entered in the 21 century at my age 56 in 2003 after much trial and error. It was language universals that was ever taught from CHINO Eiichi who was the real life time teacher of mine and the successor of the Linguistic Circle of Prague, who spent 7 year study at Prague.

Sergej Karcevskij gave me the great  hint of approach to language universals through the famous paper titled "Du Dualisme asymétrique du signe linguistique" 1929.

In 2003 I wrote a paper titled " Quantum Theory for Language" after some trial papers, " On Time Property Inherent in Characters", " Manuscript of Quantum Theory for Language" .
In 2004 I wrote two attached papers, " Distance Theory" and "Reversion Theory".

The proper papers' URL is the next.

After the suggestion of CHINO, I have tried the very hard road of writing style using mathematical base assisted from many contemporary mathematician works, especially at the field of algebraic geometry.

The paper " Quantum Theory for Language" was selected one of the 4 oral presentations of the linguistic field of a international symposium focused on the Silk Road.

On Karcevskij and CHINO I wrote a tiny paper, " Prague in 1920" which was dedicated the two as a token of my cordially gratitude.

KAJIMURA Hideki His Korean Classroom

KAJIMURA Hideki
His Korean Classroom

TANAKA Akio

I first met KAJIMURA at 1970 and he taught me the Korean in the small class of foreign language.
Text was SONG Jihak’s “Chosono Immun” published by Daigaku Shorin. It was one of a few books for beginners of Korean at late 1960s in Japan. Korean texts were published a few, so we could  usually see only 2 or 3 kinds at a large bookshop.
I was age 21 and KAJIMURA was 30s.

Class was opened in the forth period and the room was dim-lit in late autumn season.
In the same room, I was also taught Russian from CHINO Eiichi and MURAVIJOVA Natary.
I have good memories of learning foreign languages in that tiny room.

KAJIMURA was a high school teacher in those days and also teaching Korean history and language in several universities. Rightfully he ought to  become the special professor of national institute but he abandoned all the right to pioneer the new frontier of Korea, for which  East Asia researchers seemed to be less important.

I remembered his words that Korean grammar was once explained by using Russian grammar which was far apart from Korean and its family of language.
He said the words with smiling. “Such times surely exist in short period.” I felt that the times had been changing rapidly before ours, nobody believes  that Russian and Korean are family languages.

He wore the round glasses and no neck-tie. Jacket was old and shoulders were always down a little for his thin shape.
When I was absent from my schedule in winter season, he wrote me a letter.
I wrote a reply immediately saying that Korean language was precious for me and I decided to keep learning the language all my life.
What I wrote there was true till now.

He also invited me to his home. But I could not depend too much to him.
But now I regret that I had not received his favour. Later when he became the professor of a university, I would go to his study room at once. But at that time I also did not go because I thought that this time I was always able to visit him.
He incessantly wrote the papers. A lot of researchers respected his sincere attitude of studying.

I did not meet him in those days.
And I suddenly heard his death.
He died from disease in 1989.
He taught me the Korean and further more sincerity of living style to the world.

AMINO Yoshihiko, historian of modern Japan

AMINO Yoshihiko, historian of modern Japan

TANAKA Akio

I met AMINO at Tokyo in early 1980s.
I assisted to make a certain historian's selected papers following him and his colleges.

In editing period, he and his friends had familiar talks after editing work at the coffee shop near the university.
I seriously heard the conversation that were often extended to the writer's history of   the selected papers.
Selected papers were finely finished in Autumn 1982.

AMINO always carried the heavy bag contained the many books in it.
Friends were talking on the many historical important themes, seeing his energetic activity with smile.

He wrote the historical papers from the very new thinking points on ever disregarded people or classes.

After some years editing, I knew his essay that was written the above historian, in which he referred to  my assist for the historian.

AMINO never told me on the essay. He calmly wrote the fact of the relation with the historian and me. Several years before, I rejected his kind support  to my career to the research life.

I never noticed his true tenderness during his lifetime.

He died in 2004.

The comparison between 2003 and 2017

The comparison between 2003 and 2017
From Chinese character's meaning structure to Homological algebraic model of language universals

TANAKA Akio

1. Between 2003 and 2017
In 2003 I wrote a paper that showed meaning's inner structure of Chinese characters.
The paper was based on Chinese character's old form, Jaguwen, Chinese inscriptions on animal bones and tortoise carapaces that was first found at Henan-sheng, China in 1999. I wrote the paper mainly depending on WANG Guowei's work. My paper is the following.

On Time Property Inherent in Characters. 28 March 2003

In this 2017 I wrote a related paper with the 2003's paper, which mainly focused on ideogram's general purpose property from hieroglyph to LATEX symbols. My paper is the next.

The Days of Ideogram. 20 April 2017

2. From philology to algebra
The 2003 paper is on the continuation of Qing Dynasty's classical philologists in China.
The 2017 paper is on the extension of Category theory's homological approach.

3. From intuitive to definitive
The 2003 is not openly used mathematical approach, as a result  writing style is considerably intuitive.
The 2017 is also intuitive, but in its base, more sufficient mathematical data in the 17 year study result. The most recent work is Derived Category Theory. The theory is at the next.

Derived Category Language

Now the  upper two papers, the 2003 and the 2017 and their related papers are seen at Sekinan Paper and Sekinan Theory.

Sekinan Paper

4. Starting place
The new theory is now being prepared for more mathematical-descriptive expression titled Homology Language.Starting place is at the following papers.

Karcevskij conjecture 1928 and Kawamata conjecture 2002

Language stability and triangulated category

5. Gist of  Homology Language
The fundamental essences are the next.
(1)
Set is defined as Universe which can avoid set theory's contradiction.
(2)
Set is considered as Category which can get back to all the concepts to Object and Morphism.
(3)
Topological space is considered as Homology which can get back all the work to algebra.
(4)
Language model is considered as Sheaf which can past functions to the more big function.
(5)
Language can take Contractible which can describe free concepts as meaning.

6. Aim of Homology Language
(1)
Language will get near to finite generative a little alike natural language.
Fundamental work was done at the next from set theory but not definitive as universe.

von Neumann Algebra 2 Note Generation Theorem

(2)
Category theory seems to be a one-step-up stage to write on language from the days of Maclane Saunders. Refer to the next.
Topological Semantics. Torus Chain. For MAC LANE Saunders
Language and Spacetime. Word Containing Time and 4 Dimensional Sphere. Dedicated to MAC LANE Saunders
Language and Spacetime. Structure of Word. From KARCEVSKIJ to MACLANE
For MAC LANE Saunders. Categorical Approach toward Language

(3) Homological approach
In 2009 I wrote a trial papers titled Floer Homology Language. Still now the papers are important for my study.

Floer Homology Language
   |
   Potential of Language
   Supersymmetric Harmonic Oscillator
   Grothendieck Group
   Reversibility of Language
   Homology Generation of Language
   Homology Structure of Word
   Quantization of Language
   Discreteness of Language

In Floer Homology Language, the next two papers will become the guidepost for new theory Homology Language.

Homology Generation of Language
Homology Structure of Word

(4) Symplectic algebra
Symplectic algebra is one of the most fantastic fields of the contemporary mathematics.
I also ever wrote simple invitational papers for applying to language universals.
The papers are next.

Symplectic Language Theory
     |
     Symplectic Topological Existence Theorem
     Gromov-Witten Invariant
Mirror Symmetry Conjecture on Rational Curve
     Isomorphism of Map Sequence
     Generating Function
     Homological Mirror  Conjecture by KONTSEVICH
     Structure of Meaning
     On Structure

In the papers, The next contains the update result of homological approach.

Homological Mirror Symmetry Conjecture by KONTSEVICH

(5) Bridge to resolve
Relationship between symplectic geometry and derived category shows the realization of clearer description on  language.universals Because for my part, Symplectic Language Theory and Floer Homology Language seems to be the nearest way to resolve the hardship of natural language's inner structure.
The details are the next.

 Additional meaning and embedding

(6) Symmetry
The concept called symmetry is very important to describe the complex situation of natural language.
Symmetry contains undifferentiated factors in itself, for example mirror, distance,ant-world and so forth.
I ever tried to cultivate this fantastic field to resolve the hardship on language universals one more step up.

My trying paper is the following.

Mirror Theory
Mirror Language
