I ever wrote a next paper in which cell and meaning minimum are defined.

In the paper, through Roman Jakobson's intuitive assist, the concept of meaning minimum is described by the elementary algebraic geomtry. At the deeper basis, Gottfried Leibniz's Monadologie , 1714 may influence for making this Cell Theory.

But the balance of soft part and hard part in word, that was conjectured by Sergej Karcevskij in 1920s, is very hard theme to describe. For solving the hardness, trial papers were proposed at the next paper group, Notes for KARCEVSKIJ.
At the first paper of the Notes, Note for KARCEVSKIJ Sergej, the soft part in word was described by the free group's definition.

There is more difficult theme on the gradual changeable addition of meaning for which language has always efficiently useful in the thus complicated contemporary world.
For this theme, I ever tried to write some papers related with time shift. The example is the next.

Intuition and mathematics are deeply concerned with each other.
In my stand, intuitive concept is first flowing up and the next mathematical description is arranged.
According to this situation, intuition is very important and if there is no such flowing up thinking, the development is almost not so easy proceeding.
The time concept in language is the key concept of my language model that is at first found from the ancient Chinese characters’ construction and after writing a short intuitive paper, the more precise descriptions are took up using mathematics especially of geometry. But at the deepest basis of language, time is seemed to be infinitive but not spread towards* a strait line to the future, more likely going round as circle or circular situation.
This conjecture was firmed by Yi-jing that is one of the Five Great Classics of China.
I received the lecture on Yi-jing from philosopher NISHI Junzo some five years at the university. The world of Yi-jing consists from perfect infinitive circularity and this world is perfectly recognised by human for its closed situation of infinity.
It is very hard to recognise infinity as perfect whole image and Yi-jing is resolved this baffling problem through the shut-in world, that is “compact” concept of mathematics.

田所さんが三十代で、ふたたび大学で学びはじめたとき、もっとも強い関心があったのは、歴史でした。特別な地域、特定の時代に関心があるというより、いわば歴史そのもの、歴史の全体にその進行に興味がありました。今ならば歴史の転換や近未来の予測というふうになるかもしれませんが、そのときはそのような思いは少しもありませんでした。いうならば歴史というものがどのようなものであるかを、自分の体で感じてみたかったということになるかもしれません。もっと正確には歴史というものに興味があるが、それがどのようなものであるのか、ほとんど近づく糸口がなかったということであったと思います。
田所さんは、昼間は毎日在庫管理の仕事を続けながら、夜週に一日か二日、大学へ聴講生として通っていました。以前にロシア語を教えてもらった百瀬先生から言語学を学びましたが、田所さんがもっとも力を注いだのは、山野先生の歴史と南先生の哲学でした。
山野先生からは日本の平安時代の歴史と文学とのつながりを教えてもらいました。南先生からは中国の古代思想史を教えてもらいました。南先生の中国古代思想史は夜の講座の一時間目でしたから、聴講する人はいつも小人数でした。もっともどの時間に置いても先生の講義ではそうだったかもしれません。あるときなど先生はいつものようにぷらりとした足取りで教室に入ってきて、かなり広い教室ですがそこに私しか見ないと、「今日はやめにしようか」といたずらっぽく話しかけてきました。折悪しくそこへ一人の学生が来てしまいました。しばらくするともう一人というふうにして結局数人は集まってしまいましたので、先生はいつものように広告のチラシの裏側を四つ切にして左上をホチキスで止めたペーパーの細かい書きこみを見ながら、いつものように低く小さい声でぼそぼそと話し始めました。ぼそぼそと言うのはしかし田所さんがそのように聞いていたというのではありません。一般の学生が多分そのように聴いていたと田所さんは思っていたのです。
南先生の声は間近であるいは小さい教室で聴けば、人はその声がいかに明晰でいかに澄明であるかをいやおうなしに感じ取ったことでしょう。しかし大教室ではそれは無理でした。先生のおはなしを速記に近い形で克明に記録すれば、それはそのまま著作としての文章になりました。聴講を始めてまもなく、自分のノートを読み直していた田所さんはあるとき愕然としました。それはまったく著述そのものだったからです。端正で精確、こういう話をする人がいるということがまずもって驚きでした。田所さんはいままでそのような人に会ったことがなかったのです。
あるとき先生は天の話をしました。黒板に中国の古典の原文を書いて説明を始めます。そのとき天という漢字がある字の上に行ったり下に来たりします。そうすると天の意味がすっかりかわってしまうのです。中国語の文法は漢字の配列の中にありますから、それは当然といえば当然ですが、このように明晰に天の概念の変異を、もっと正確には天の概念が中国語の行文によって変異するシステム全体を、かくも短時間の内にかくも明瞭にというのは行文によって検証可能な形で叙述することですが、それを淡々と行なう先生に接して、田所さんは驚愕しました。
それからは辞典というものを見る目が少し変わりました。もっとも中国では語彙を集めた辞典というものはずっと作りづらいものであったようです。近代に入ってそうした辞典を作ろうとしたとき、正確には詞典と呼ぶのでしょうが、熟語を集めていたら、一冊の辞典全体が「一」の項目で終わってしまったそうですから、これを漢字の全体に及ぼそうというのは考えただけでもたいへんだったでしょう。

以下では、やや細かくなるが、スイスの言語学者Charles Bally シャルル・バイイの『一般言語学とフランス言語学』小林英夫訳、岩波書店 1970年8月31日 初版発行、を適宜参照する。
小林先生はこの大書を訳了するまでに、1957年から1970年までの13年間を要したことが、訳書の冒頭の「解説」に記されている。和光で中国思想史等を講じられた西順蔵先生は、若き日朝鮮の京城大学で小林先生とともに、学生を教えられた。西先生から、小林先生の面影を教えていただいたことが、今も懐かしくおもわれる。日本へ帰国するとき、西先生は小林先生とご一緒であったとうかがったことがある。
西順蔵先生からは私の勉強の基盤となる中国哲学等のご教示を受けたが、本論考とは別の分野であり割愛する。かつて中国古代思想史の講座においてほぼ半年にわたって講義された易経は忘れ難い。またゼミ生と一緒に幾度か旅した憶い出は尽きない。特に群馬県の霧積温泉への二度の旅が懐かしい。先生の奥様が作ってくださったパウンドケーキを先生が手ずから切って私たちにふるまってくださった。夕食後先生と二人で話した折り、私が当時少しずつ参照していた段玉裁の『説文解字注』について尋ねたとき、先生が即座に「あんな難しい本、読めるかいな」とおっしゃったことが記憶に残る。私は咄嗟に、先生と私の本に対する、レベルの遙かな懸隔をおもいやった。
西先生の1984年の没後、社会史の阿部謹也先生が書かれた『北の街にて』講談社 1995年を読み、小樽にいらした阿部先生と東京の西先生との間で100通を超える手紙のやり取りがあったことを知った。西先生が霧積で阿部先生のことを、遠くを想いみるようにして話されたことがしのばれる。余事であるが、私は『北の街にて』読了後、阿部先生に、西先生をしのぶ短い詩を添えてお手紙を差し上げた。先生は未知の私に丁重なご返事をくださり、その中で、あの霧積のころが懐かしいとお書きになっていた。私も今、両先生を霧積と重ねて同じ憶いにかられる。
そのころまた、川崎庸之先生とご一緒して旅した日々も懐かしい。
『西順蔵著作集』全3巻・別巻1巻が1995年から1996年に内山書店から刊行された。編著『原典中国近代思想史』全6冊、岩波書店 1976年ー1977年は、先生を慕う若き研究者たちと横浜の先生の御自宅で講読を続けた、当該主題の必須の文献である。
先生はまた、『岩波哲学小辞典』栗田賢三・古在由重 編 岩波書店 1979年、の中国関係の項目のすべてを執筆された。
大学からの下校時、先生とご一緒したとき、先生からじかに伺った。この辞典は小型であるが、哲学の基本概念を簡潔にしかも精密に定義して、固有名詞等には原綴りを添えている。また索引が整っていて、人名索引・事項索引・外国語人名索引・外国語事項索引・ロシア語索引の5種の索引がある。索引だけで、279頁から321頁の43頁を要している。
私は小型辞典の有用性は極めて高いとおもう一人である。かつて辞書をほとんど利用なさらないとおっしゃっていた川崎庸之先生が愛用しておられた一冊の小型辞典がある。山川出版社から昭和32年1957年に刊行された『日本史小辞典』である。先生はこの辞典を称して「玉手箱のようだね」とおしゃっていた。
常用ではないが、ときに必須となる小型辞典の数冊を列記する。小型辞典は一種不思議な存在であると、今もおもう。
限られた容量の中に、だれもが必要とするものを、どう選択してどう記述するか。

西先生からは、著述に関する大切なことを教えていただいた。
1985年に三省堂から刊行された『熊野中国語大辞典』のことである。この辞典を編纂されたのは、西先生の一橋大学における同僚でいたした、熊野正平先生である。熊野先生は一橋において、中国語学を学生に教授されておられたが、先生の生涯の学績は、上記の辞典の編纂と刊行とであった。この辞典の編纂がいかに困難であり、さらにその刊行はさらに困難であった。しかしさまざまな障碍を超えて、先生の編纂着手以来30年を経て、この辞典は刊行され、多くの方々に先生の学績は受け継がれた。熊野先生が昭和46年1971年に書かれた「緒言」と1985年に三省堂によって書かれた「あとがきに代えて」を以下に引用して、先生が遭遇したその困難の一端をお伝えしたい。
緒言
「この辞典の編纂は昭和30年着手、爾来約15年を経てようやく出版の運びとなった。（中略）カードの総数は約20万枚、整理によって除いたものが約5万枚、従って編纂工作の対象となったのは約15万枚であった。」
「原稿カードをインフォーマントの中国人と共同して逐一検討するような愚直な方法は、かなり時間のかかる労作ではあったが、これは一度は誰かがやっておくのも異議無しとしないと考え、私は敢えて終始この方法を採った。（中略） 昭和46年 春 熊野正平 識」
あとがきに代えて
「本書は元来コンサイス・シリーズの一環として企画された。（中略）これをお諮りしたのは1954年（昭和29年）秋のことであった。」
「この時期は国の内外において転換の時期でもあり、（中略）ひいては小社の倒産（1974年）という現実もこれに追い打ちをかけることとなっていった。（中略）1973年に本企画は已むなく中止となった。」
「先生は黙し難い思いを胸底に秘められたまま遂に1882年（昭和57年）不帰の人となられた。（中略）まさに満84歳の御生涯であった。」
「善意と努力と協力が結晶し、昨年10月10日（中略）上梓されたのである。その淵源より数えてまさに一世代、30年を要した。（中略）1885年4月8日 株式会社 三省堂」
