Haiku for sunflower

About a decade ago, I wrote Haiku themed by sunflower. Every summer the flowers grow in the field as singing the praise of dazzling youth’s days. Reversely I am declining the late days of the life. But still now research is never gotten at least the smallest level achievement. French poet ever sang, ” So long, the short summer light.” Really summer goes by quicker than you can say it.

言語の普遍性

―一度だけそのチャンスがあった。法則を発見したとおもった。言語における出現の頻度についてだ。それから二三日は調べまくった 。 すでにその法則は見つけられていたけどね。 Ｃはそう言ってことばを止めた。年上だが彼はＡに、年齢差や経験差を考慮することなく、彼の有する言語についての知見を可能な 限り教えてくれた。言語にあるのは事実と法則、それが彼のすべてだった。Ｃはみずからそのいずれをも発見できなかったと明言して いた。Ａにはそのとき返すことばがなく、ただだまって受け止めるだけだった。 この法則のことはその後もずっと気になっていたが、あるとき蔵本由起を読んで、ほぼ明瞭になった。Ｃが言っていたのは、アメリ カの言語学者、ジョージ・ジップによって発見された経験則かそれに関連するものだったとおもわれる。 蔵本に従えば、ジップの法則とは、文学作品などに現われる単語の出現頻度の順位は逆ベキ法則に従うというものだった。例示され た時田恵一郎と入江治行の図によれば、シェークスピア、ダーウィン、ミルトン、ウェルズ、キャロルという異なる分野の著作におい て、見事な類似が示されていた。特にウェルズの「タイムマシーン」とキャロルの「不思議な国のアリス」ではほとんどまったく重複 するカーブとなっていて、同一の作品ではないかとおもわれるくらいだった。 二十世紀前半に発見されたこの卓越した経験則を、時田と入江はサンプルとなった著作に出現する単語において１から 100000 まで の頻度とランクを解析しグラフ化することで、まちがいなく不動の科学的な法則であることを追認した。 　すなわち著者がその思考を表現するために自由に選択したとおもわれるすべての単語が、この法則によればどの著者においても、ど の単語を何回用いるかという相関関係においてはほぼ同一になることが、現代科学の数量的成果として美しいまでに示された。 　むかし K から詩とは何かと尋ねられたとき、A は、素朴なレベルで、詩とはそれまでの言語の規範から逸脱しようとすることだろう かと答えたが、今は文学全体が、人間が作ったであろう言語の強い法則に逆に支配されていることを本能的に知って、ながい果敢な闘 いを挑んできたようにも感じられた。 　ガリレイではないが、それでも異なる人間の著作が、これからもジップの法則に従って、常に同一に近いカーブとなり続けるだろう こともまた事実だ。Ｃはしかし、A のこうした言語に対する過度な観念化を好まず、その生涯をかけて言語の 事実とそこから抽出される法則を追い、そ れらを見出さなかった。そして或るとき突然の病いで逝った。言語学を愛した幾冊かの本を残して。最後の本の名は、 「言語学への開 かれた扉、Janua Linguisticae Reserata」。彼が言うように、扉は万人に開かれていた。ひたすら追うのであれば。 Ｃが生きていれば、今またＡに問うかもしれない。おまえは今何をしているかと。そしてＡもまた同じように答えるだろう。事実で はなく普遍を追っています、こりることなくと。 生きていれば、あの急な階段をのぼって、天井の低いテーブルでまた話していただろうか、Ｃよ。転注をめぐる研究の国境を超えた つながりの中で、再発見された転注論の貴重な原稿を損傷させないために、発見者みずからが飛行機に乗って届けてくれたことなどを。 だから途方にくれるようにまずしかった私はどれほど勇気づけられたか、Ｃよ。駅前の路地を入ってすぐ左の、掘っ立て小屋のよう だったあの店の名まえはカリフォルニア。ぼくらの決して悲惨ではなかった忘却の紀念に、今はそれを書き記そう。

―この間はありがとう。ほんとうに助かった。 　Ｓ駅の地下道から地上に出ると日ざしがまぶしい。待っていたＩにお礼を言った。 ―どうしようと思ったんだけど、思いきって、行ってよかった。もしかして迷惑だった？ Ｉが、きらめく光を通す木立を背にしてたずねる。 ―そんなことない。言い方がいつもたりなくて。ほんとうに感謝している。 　広場の向こうを、車が重なるようにゆっくりと過ぎて行く。 ―もう大丈夫なの？ ―すっかりよくなった。きみのおかげだ。 ―そんなことないわ。 Ｉがうれしそうに言う。広場の二人に木漏れ日が揺れている。 たえまなく行き交う広場の無数の人々の中で、Ｉはたったひとりの人に伝える。 ―もし元気だったら、新しくできたＪ書店に行ってみない？ 信号が変わって、人波がいっせいに動きだす。 ―今日はほんとうはきみにお礼をするんだった。べつになにもできないけれど。 ―それはいいの、わたしが自分でしたかっただけ。 Ｉがほほえみながら応える。 ―じゃ、先に本屋に行って、それからでもいい？ ―ええ、私も新しいところを見てみたいわ。 　歩き出すと、歩道は、肩が触れ合うくらいに人出が多い。 ―すごいね。ますます多くなる。 押されるようにして、Ｉは彼の腕を抱く。―だれかが言ってたわ、この街には過去も未来もなんでもあるって。 ―ほんとにそういう感じだ。 信号を待ちながら、Ａは彼女に伝える。 ―ここのところでね、むかしカフスボタンを買った、たぶんこの位置のはずだ。小さい店で、今みたいに信号を待っていたら眼にと まったんだ。 　雑踏で声がかき消されるくらいだ。 ―翡翠のカフス、ほとんど使わないのに。 ―あなたはいつもそう。 　それが I の告白だった。 愛する人。 ―貧しくて、不遜だった。 　本の重さでかたむいたカバン。中心のない、なにも見えなかった日々。 ―そんなことない。　 信号が変わる。 ―むかしね。谷山豊って人がいたんだ。 A は声を大きくして言った。 ―若くして亡くなった。婚約者もたしかまもなく亡くなった。彼とその友人が作った予想が、フェルマー予想を解くかぎになった。ワ イルズという人が解いてもう十年以上になる。それで谷山の特集が雑誌に載ったことがあった。 Ｉはただ彼を見ている。 ―そのときね、この街だった、すごくうらやましいとおもった。雑誌は買わなかったけど、買ってもしかたがないような気がした。自 分にはそのときなにもなかったから。ただ、そんなふうに生きてみたい、死ぬことじゃないよ、一度生きるならそんなふうに生きたい とほんとうにおもった。それがたぶん自分には一生できないとわかっていたから。それが、いまは谷山のように生きている。彼のよう にすごくもなんともないけど。おもいはまったく同じなんだ。 ―すごいわね、ほんとうに。そんなにおもえるなんて。 ―きみを愛したから。 　彼女の肩を強く抱く。 新しい書店が見えてきた。 　二人に今、恩寵のように冬が来る。

雨になりそうな天気だったが、Ａは工芸展を見に行くのに、Ｉを誘った。 　都市線をＫ駅で降りて簡単に食事を済ませてから、大通りへ出た。 ―このまえ一緒に来たのはいつだったかしら？ Ｉは遠くをふりかえるように言う。 ―いつだったろう、ほかの人とは来なかったの？ ―たまにはそうしたいけど、だめみたいね。 　Ａを見て彼女はほほえむ。 　降りはじめたが、傘をさすほどでもない。 天使のやさしさで振る雨。 ―こんな日に誘ってわるかったね。 ―そんなことない。うれしかったわ。 以前よりあかるくなった彼女を見ると、ほっとする。 通りにはいろんな看板が見える。 左手奥にたしか老舗の海苔店がある。　 ―今日はかえりに海苔を買いたいな。 ―海苔？ ―少しだけいい海苔を食べてみたい。ほかにおかずもいらないし。 ―そんな食事ばかりなの？ ―朝はね。夕食はちゃんとつくるよ。 通りの窓に、雨の都市で語らう人たちが映し出される。 工芸展はＭ百貨店で毎年秋に行なわれていた。 ―十日くらいで終わってしまうと、なかなか見に来れないものだね。 ―誘ってもらってよかったわ。 ―ひとりで来ようか、すこしまよったんだよ。 ―ありがとう。 傘をさす人はほとんどいない。 　二人が再会して、三度目の冬がまもなく来る。こんなにしばしば会うようになったのは、比較的最近のことだ。 　ＡがＧ市に移ってからはＳ駅に出やすくなったので、むかしよく行っていたＫ書店にまたときどき出かけるようになった。そこでＩ と再会した。 　車と人がしだいに増えてきた。 　中心街へ入ってくると、点灯した車のライトがまぶしい。建物が高くなってきた。二人の頭上には、はなやかな、赤と紺の地に金で 縁取りされた小旗が歩道に沿って飾りつけられ、それがずっと先まで続いている。 ―祝祭の前夜のようだね。何に対しての前夜だったのか、自分がその中にいるとおもった日々が、かつて確かにあった。 ―前夜？ ―そう、前の日の夜。 ―クリスマスのような。 ―そんなすてきなものじゃなかった。でもきっと、なにかを待っていたんだろうね、自分なりに。 ―なにを待っていたの？ Ｉの髪に車の光が移って行く。 ―もうよくおもいだせないけど、たぶん、やすらかな自分をかな、へんな言い方だね。 ―そんなことない。私はもっとだめだったから。 ―でもなにも来なかった、たぶん。 祝祭は遂に来なかったのかと、あらためておもう。 こまかな雨が行く人の肩をぬらしている。 ―それでもなんとかなったんだね。こうしているから。 　いつからか祝祭を待つおもいは消えた。あるいは祝祭も前夜も、知らぬ間に過ぎて行ったのかもしれない。 二人が、というより二人を含む何人かがともに大きなテーブルを囲んで学んでいたころから、もう遠いところに来ていた。 ―Ｙが亡くなったのか。 Ｉはだまってうなずく。 再会したＫ書店を出て、立ち話をしているうちに、Ｙが亡くなったことを伝えられた。Ａは彼の死を知らなかった。 ―いい人ははやく逝ってしまう。 　言語学のほとんどすべてをを教えてくれたＣも早く逝った。塔と橋のある古い都市をこよなく愛したＣ。彼が書き残したものの中に 「カルパチアの月」というのがあった。 彼は記す、会議を終えてキエフを発し、カルパチアの山に月と教会を見て、ひたすら西へ向かい、スロバキア、モラビア、ボヘミア を過ぎ、遂に「黄金のプラハへと着いた」と。彼の青春であったプラハ。 あれほどの言語を自在に駆使しながら、彼からもうその逸話を聞くこともできない。新聞は 彼の死を、小さな見出しで言語学の天才 と報じた。 夕ぐれにはまだ時間があるのに、イルミネーションが灯り始めた。雨がこまかく降っている。Ｍ百貨店も右手前方にあかるく光って いる。 ―帰りにコーヒーを飲んでいかない？ 手前の新しそうな店を見ながら、Ｉが言った。

           SQGL Sekinan Quantum Group Language

SQGL

SQGL is Sekinan Library's specialised site for ​QGL Quantum Group Language that has researched since 2017 being carried out the original invention in spring 2003 at Hakuba, Nagano.   ​Manuscript of Quantum Theory for Language shows the intention's details. But at the time 2003, the invention did not have any actuality for realization as as a mathematical theory.  What changed the state of my study resulted from the progress of quantum groups at mathematics and the development of particle physics. Speech and writing is the first phase of language and it is a distinct physical phenomena for human being. Here exists my clear point of departure. Tokyo, 20 September 2018, Sekinan Library.

非対称性。Non-symmetry. それはかつてＣと繰り返し話した内容だ。It was the very theme that I repeatedly talked on with C.１９２０年代のプラハ。Prague in 1920s. 雑誌TCLPに載ったカルツェフスキイの論文、「言語記号の非対称的二重性」。Karcevskij's paper "Du dualisme asymetrique du signe linguistique" that appeared in the magazine TCLP. 言語が保持し続けるところの、それによって言語が言語であり続けるところの、絶対的に矛盾する柔構造と硬構造の共存。Absolutely contradicted coexistence between flexibility and solidity, which language keeps on maintaining, by which language continues existing as language. 言語において二重に内在し続けるだろう永遠の矛盾。Still now there will exist the everlasting dual contradiction in language.言語がかくも柔軟でかくも堅固でいられるのはなぜか。Why can language stay in such solid and such flexible condition like that. そのほとんど絶対的に矛盾するかともおもわれる二重性をカルツェフスキイは提示した。Karcevskij proposed the duality that is seemed to be almost absolute contradiction. Ｃがその最後の本の中でただ一人天才と称した言語学者、セルゲイ・カルツェフスキイが残した白眉の論考。Sergej Karcevskij's best of papers, for whom C called as the only genius in his last book.

I see them as a foreigner who first meets the scene in a bracing air
I have been admitted here far from the other
I talk with a young teacher who arranges the minute after-admitted paperwork
He speaks to me calmly but eagerly
These are done, these two are now consulting the teachers for transferring
Now you are all assured
Thanks sincerely for your advice, if be not, now I may be not here
in the warm sunlit fresh green place
I love the place
I will read books from now on seeking my aim
succeeding through my lifetime
Library and its open shelves will become the realm of my youth

Description

For language study, its theoretical  description is a very important role for understandability and clarity of the paper. Till my age 30s , I had never satisfied my way to study and write. Philosophical and philological methods have been felt somewhere ambiguous and unreliable to proceed sensitive research of language.
My great turn occurred at the relearning of mathematics, especially geometrical algebra. I was also one of the many influenced students from Bourbaki, that was the brightest star in the universe of minute and rigorous road to the destination. But my poor way was always unevennes and wide deep fog was surrounded in the vast field in front of mine. What at last I  arrived at the gate of confirmed style was the beginning of the 21st century. At that time I wrote several trial papers related with language universals but still never had been satisfied for their ambiguity and intensive styles. My next crux came at my study of new wave of algebraic geometry, complex manifold deformation at 2008. Its result became some papers named Complex Manifold Deformation Theory. This was the very fresh and clear way to study language for me.

Sekinan Research Field of Language was established in 2003 for the study on language universals, that was the core theme since my youth time some 40 years ago in the 1970s. But real start was much later in the late 1980s.
In 1986 I established the Sekinan Library for the base of study at Tachikawa, Tokyo. At that time my main theme was declined to the study of old Chinese character’s classical semantics using the traditional study of the form of characters reading Qing Dynasty’s WANG Guowei. The study from the direction had not given me so rich results. I at the same time read some mathematical books influenced from Bourbaki that was the big stream in 1970s in Japan. Set theory represented by Godel was also the favourite at the time.

In 1990s I determined the direction of study only to language universals taught from CHINO Eiichi, one of the modern typical philologists of Japan. He taught me almost all the aspects of European philology that were unknown for me. In the various themes he gave me, the most impressive was the existence of the Linguistic Circle of Prague. Above all Sergej Karcevskij was overwhelmingly deep and moving. But Karcevskij’s  approach was seemed to be intuitive and far from clear descriptiveness.

I began to learn the theme hinted by Karcevskij while learning Godel, Bourbaki and Wittgenstein that was also gave me the big influence form the age 20s. I had frequently read Wittgenstein’s TRACTATUS. But my base of math was so poor and never became the descriptive use for language’s delicate phases. So I again restarted math from geometry that gave the most familiar and clear image for me. My intuitive image and basic math description were seemed to be able offer in nearly millennium days.

In spring 2003 I knew the application paper for the international symposium held  by a certain institute. I arranged the short paper for it till early summer and sent it. The paper was happily adopted  as one of the language and literature section of the symposium. The paper’s title was Quantum Theory for Language. It was again arranged next year 2004 as the title Quantum Theory for Language synopsis.

The establish date of Sekinan Research Field of Language  was 23 August 2003, that was the date of completion of proto-conceptive paper of Quantum Theory for Language at the hutte in Hakuba, Nagano. Now the time passed rapidly 10 years. The home site, sekinan, has become full by the papers accumulation. So the new site has become indispensable. The name is SRFLTheory, made at 2 April 2014.

OLD TOKYO, THE KIYOZUMI PARK

The pond of the Kiyozumi Park was made by drawing the Tokyo Bay’s water into the pond, ever seen several in the pre-Tokyo, but now this structure becomes very rare. The location is near the sea, so many sea birds visit here to rest and eat food in the pond.

The Kiyozumi Park , located at the Koto Ward, is one of the pre-modern funeral lord’s garden in Tokyo. This park was designed using the Tokyo Bay’ water for the pond in the garden. I first visited here in my age 20s, now with wife again walked around the pond explaining the history of the garden.

OLD TOKYO, SNOW GUARD OF TREE

The trees planted around the pond in the Kiyozumi Garden is kept by the snow guard from late winter to the early spring for not breaking the branches by the weight of winter snow. The way is traditional special work of gardeners of Japan. Now for its difficult style and high maintenance  expence, this artistic guard was not able to be seen so much.

OLD TOKYO, WORM GUARD

The Kiyozumi Park’s trees,especially pine trees, are guard by traditional worm guard system using the Japanese rope winding around the tree stems. The worms enter in the rope from autumn to winter for warming in the rope preventing the cold season. The gardeners take off the winding ropes at the spring and burn them quickly worms in the rope. Thus trees are kept safely from the worm damage. I love this way for its artistically beautiful knotting.

In 1970s at Tokyo or in my age 20s there surely exists glitter of youth in my life, now I remember.
In those days, in Japan many fabulous magazines were successively published. Episteme,Toshi（City）、Chugoku（China)　and the likes. Especially I loved reading Episteme which had printed many philosophical or philological articles as the form of special issues concentrated important philosopher, thinker and writer. The chief editor of Episteme was NAKANO Mikitaka（1943-2007), probably one of the best editors in the latter half of the 20th century in Japan.  The most impressive number was Ludwig Wittgenstein（1889-1951）, probably in 1977. Also influenced from the issue of Kurt Gödel（1906-1978）who gave me the possibility of set theory.
In my life, Wittgenstein gave the big influence for thinking and writing style, never entering or approaching his essential philosophical themes.Aftermillennium year when I started the regular writing on language universals, my writing style was resembling in his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. My paper written in 2003, Quantum Theory for Language shows a very imitative style to him. This tendency kept on for some time till I changed to adopt algebraic method for more clear description to the themes.
1970s was a relatively calm times after those university’s revolution in the late 1960s in which I also compellingly rolled in. In those days I almost had been wandering between library and old book shops aiming my life-time true themes cowardly avoiding the turmoils of university and towns. Blaise Pascal（1623-1662）’s Pansees was my favourite one. One day at Kanda’s Taiwan chinese book shop Kaifu Shoten, I bought WANG Guowei（1877-1927）’s Guantangjilin that opened the new frontier for classical Chinese philology mainly streamed by “Small Study”, traditional exegetics in China. Influenced WANG Guowei I wrote a paper titled On Time Property Inherent in Characters, 2003 by which I began the latter start of language study.
In 1970s, I had cherished a dream in which I wanted to use mathematical description and get the essential of language. But I had not any ability to proceed the study for it while I read at random several mathematical books. One day I found and bought the amount Nicolas Bourbaki（1935-）’s text books at old book shop in Kanda, Tokyo. They were hard to keep reading for my talent in those days. After all, the books were put aside the desk. The remaining in my mind was adoration to Bourbaki and their brilliant achievement. My return to Bourbaki was long after in 1990s when I again tried the pursuit of language having a clear vision to study language universals according to the Linguistic Circle of Prague, especially aiming to resolve the supposition presented by Sergej Karcevskij（1884-1955).
Turning round the past days, my way was always narrow and winding road. But it keeps till now not breaking off in any situations. The way was finely glittering in my youth days despite under the cloudy sky. Probably I have kept happily walking till now being assisted by many people especially at the field of language, mathematics and relevant studies.
